TOP TEN INSPIRING NIGERIA MALE NURSES IN 2017.

At a time when Nigeria Male Nurses are shying away from the profession as a result of intimidation, poor public perception and job dissatisfaction.

At a time when many male nurses have seen the nursing profession as a dead end.

At a point when the Nigeria male nurses are afraid to answer the title ‘Nurse’

And at a point when the Nigeria Healthcare industry is in a state of chauvinism.Some Male Nurses have risen up to challenge this status quo and prove beyond reasonable doubts that that there are greater opportunities for men in nursing who are ready to pay the sacrifices of success.

Below are the TOP TEN INSPIRING NIGERIA MALE NURSES IN 2017.

1. FARUK ABUBAKAR

Alh Faruk Umar Abubakar is the Registrar / Secretary General of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. Alh Faruk Umar Abubakar hails from Sokoto State. Until his appointment he was a lecturer at Department of Nursing Sciences, College of Health Science, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Splits. He holds RN, RNT, B Sc Nursing and M Sc and a Fellow West Africa College of Nursing (FWACN).

He graduated from university of ife, he had his MSc in University of cafe coast Ghana and now a PhD student at department of nursing science ABU Zaria

Faruk has proved to be the long awaited Nursing Messiah since he assumed office as the NMCN Boss.
This is evident in the success recorded so far part of which include but not limited to internship for graduate nurses and prompt release of council examination results.

2. JUDE CHIEDU

Jude chiedu is a Nigerian trained Nurse. He’s the CEO Nursingworld Nigeria, a platform that has brought nurses from all part of the country together. He’s the winner of Nigeria Healthcare award 2016.
His passion for nursing led him to dedicate his wedding day to the awareness creation and fight against quackery in nursing profession. He holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing science.

3. KELVIN OSSAI

Nurse Kelvin OSSAI (RN, RM, RPHN, BNSC), is a Graduate Registered Nurse from the University of Port Harcourt based in Port Harcourt. He is maternally from Delta state and Anambra paternally. Apart from nursing practice, he is also social media consultant, Music artist, MC, comedian and a motivational speaker. He is driven internally to develop his career and personal life at every level. He derives joy in giving health talks and seminars any day, anytime, under any condition.
Kelvin also writes articles and short nursing posts to help motivate young nurses.
Kelvin is always ready to listen to you and help you solve problems. He derives pleasure in mentoring young nurses and also tries to work on the gender imbalance in the profession by working on changing the image of nurses as perceived by the public and other health care workers.

Kelvin is currently advancing his nursing career through Master’s in Nursing Education. He is also working on few songs that will blow your mind and make you wonder if this was done by a nurse.

4. COLINS OGBOLU

Collins Ndubuisi Ogbolu
Collins is a graduate of University Of Nigeria.
He is the executive director of LeadNurse Africa International Foundation. This organization pioneered the effective utilization of Telenursing for capacity building in Nursing in Nigeria in partnership with Alkint service Invited Kingdom and Swiss telemedicine center . They have worked across the continent promoting the establishment of global best practices in Nursing practice, Leadership and Education.
Collins is passionate about Nursing development through strategic planning, transformational Leadership and research.

5. AKINGBADE OLUWADAMILARE

Oluwadamilare Akingbade is a young dynamic nursing officer passionate about all- round excellence in Nursing. He bagged his first degree in Nursing from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso while he is currently rounding up his MSc (Community Health Nursing) at University of Ibadan, Nigeria.

Oluwadamilare, a nurse- researcher collaborated with some other like-minded nurses in the year 2016 in founding a Non-Governmental Organisation, Institute of Nursing Research, Nigeria; an organisation passionate about impacting families and communities through research.

Damilare, a nurse-clinician had worked with LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso and Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

His journey in nursing administration recently began as he was seconded by the Lagos State Ministry of Health to Nursing and Midwifery Council, Abuja where he is currently based.

Damilare is fast becoming a voice to reckon with in Nursing as he now speaks to Nurses in different seminars and conferences.

6. SANNI YASIR

YASIR SANI M, is a graduate nurse, with a masters in Public Health. He is an Overseas Coordinator for a Designated Learning institution in Canada and a Northern Coordinator of the LeadNurseAfrica and also a Verifier on the Performance Based Financing – Nigeria State Health Investment Project of the Federal Government Of Nigeria facilitated by the World Bank. He is also the Executive Secretary of The LAMP Africa, which works to improve quality of care, especially for Maternal Newborn Child& Adolescents Health through the promotion of effective Leadership, proactive Advocacy, competent Manpower & evidence -based Practice. Through the Organization he Co-founded the assembly of men in Nursing and organized the first men in Nursing conference. Yasir Sani is passionate about healthcare policy, practice & community development .
he previously held various leadership positions, including the President of Nigeria Universities Nursing Students’ Association Unijos chapter (NUNSA) 2008. During this period, he rejuvenated the National Nursing Student Association and cofounded the West African Nursing Students’ Association (WANSA) and served as the first LOC chair of WANSA. Yasir Sani is privileged to be well traveled and meet nurses in different part of the world to mention but few. United Kingdom, Swizeland, Canada and United States of America. He established strong relationship with different organizations and individuals that today paveway for many Nigerian nurses emigrate and become residence professional Nurses In Canada. And many on the way. He equally assisted nurses traveled out to acquire more knowledge gain more certificates from Masters in Nursing PHD’s and so on. Yasir Sani M. means alot to so many , for that he is named Mr Nigeria in a summit of Nurses held in Canada August 2016. Despite his tight schedule and travels, Yasir still make out time ones in a while to enter the wards and join nurses in the Clinical area to keep phase with the happenings at the clinical areas and providing innovative ideas and way forward in the best global best practices.

7. JOSIAH OKESOLA JAKSON

Okesola Jackson is a Nigerian trained mental health Nurse .He’s an incurable optimist, Analytical problem solver and Mind transforming leader.
He’s the founder of Inspired Nurses Network Africa ( INNA ) As well as the CEO Nurses On Air ( NOA ) a the first Africa online radio for Nurses.
He’s currently based in Lagos, south west Nigeria with his children and darling wife, Lizzy

8. EZE OBINNA

Eze Victor Obinna is a Leadership management expert and Life Coach, an author, public speaker, Registered Nurse and certified Public Health Nurse.

OYEWOLE ABIODUN SHERIFF ARINZE is a REGISTERED NURSE, a professional blogger, IT expert, young entrepreneur, a poet and an author.
