Quack Nurse Reveals Details on Mohbad’s Final Moments in Court
Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who treated the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has revealed that the artist began vomiting and showing signs of distress after receiving a tetanus injection.
Testifying before Justice C.A. Shotobi at the Coroner’s Court in Ikorodu, Lagos, on Friday, Ogedengbe recounted how she stepped out to get additional medical supplies but was soon called back with news that Mohbad had started convulsing.

According to her, after administering the tetanus shot, Mohbad developed goosebumps—an occurrence his wife, Omowunmi, reportedly described as a “normal reaction” for him.
Events Leading to Mohbad’s Death
Ogedengbe stated that on September 12, 2024, she was contacted by Ayobami Sodiq, also known as Spending, to provide medical treatment for Mohbad at his Lekki residence. Arriving at approximately 2:30 pm, she noticed a swollen wound on his right hand.
She proceeded to administer a tetanus injection to his upper arm. Aware of his ulcer history, she opted to give him paracetamol instead of diclofenac for pain relief. She also injected him with 4ml of paracetamol diluted with 1ml of water and a slow 10ml dose of ceftriaxone to address a bacterial infection.
Shortly after the ceftriaxone injection, Mohbad reportedly felt discomfort and went to vomit.
“After he vomited in the toilet, he returned to the room and sat on the floor. That’s when I noticed the goosebumps on his body,” Ogedengbe testified. “I pointed it out to his wife, and she said it was his normal reaction to injections.”
At the time, four people were present in the room: Mohbad, his wife, and Ayobami.
Desperate Attempt to Save Him
Ogedengbe said she questioned Omowunmi about why she had not mentioned her husband’s usual reaction to injections earlier.
In response, Omowunmi took Mohbad to the bathroom and began pouring water on his head.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the nurse and Ayobami rushed to a pharmacy to get medication for a possible allergic reaction. However, they faced delays at the first pharmacy.
She explained, “After visiting another pharmacy and securing a hydrocortisone injection and normal saline infusion, we rushed back, only to find Mohbad outside the house. By then, preparations were being made to transport him to the hospital.”
Due to heavy traffic and a lack of available vehicles, Mohbad was taken to the hospital on a motorcycle. Tragically, he was declared dead on arrival.
Legal Proceedings
Ogedengbe recalled that when they arrived at the hospital, the medical staff initially hesitated to attend to him, leading to further confusion.
Later that evening, Mohbad’s body was taken back home around 8 pm while they proceeded to the Orchid Lekki Police Station to obtain a death certificate. The police then directed them to Ajiwe Police Station in Ajah for further inquiries.
Following investigations, the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions announced in February 2025 that Ogedengbe and Sodiq would face charges for reckless and negligent acts under Section 251 (e) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Meanwhile, the court cleared popular musician Abdulazeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, along with music promoter Samson Balogun (Sam Larry), Owodunni Ibrahim (Primeboy), and Mohbad’s former manager Opere Babatunde of any involvement.
The case has been adjourned to March 21, 2025, for further hearing.
